Qualifying Final - Newtown & Chilwell vs St Joseph's
It doesn’t get much bigger than this.
This Qualifying Final is a replay of last year’s Grand Final, and the stakes couldn’t be higher.
Newtown & Chilwell are chasing their 11th consecutive Grand Final appearance — an incredible streak that speaks to the club’s dynasty in GFNL netball.
Newtown are well rested after their week one bye and have a group that is well built for finals, expect the Towners to come out with a point to prove from the first minute.
The Towners handed St Joseph’s one of their two losses of the season back in round zero, the excitement around the playing group would be epic as a Grand Final birth is available.
St Joseph’s are looking to write their own history, with an opportunity to reach back-to-back Grand Final appearances.
St Joseph’s motivations wouldn’t need reminding from last year, with a fresh opportunity this weekend, expect the Joeys faithful to come in support.
Joeys will be full of confidence their best netball stakes up against the best, they handed Newtown their only loss of the 2025 season — and they'll be raring to go, in what should be a classic showdown.
Will the reigning premier reach an eleventh consecutive Grand Final, or will the underdogs make it back-to-back Grand Final appearances?

Semi Final - South Barwon vs Geelong West Giants
The GFNL Semi Final brings together two sides who know the meaning of pressure, and who know this might be their best shot at going deep in September.
South Barwon haven’t played in a Grand Final since 2016 and are desperate to return to the biggest stage after nearly a decade out of the spotlight.
Geelong West Giants are chasing their first Grand Final berth since adopting the 'Giants' name. They’ve built a strong, competitive netball program in recent years — now it’s time to take the next step.
With a Preliminary Final spot on the line, both teams will throw everything into this clash. There are no second chances.
Both sides have faced each other twice this season, splitting the results in a sign of the evenness at the top of table.
The winner will face the loser of St Joseph’s v Newtown, plenty to play out in what should be a cracking Sunday afternoon game.
Both clubs faithful have cried out for success, this weekend is an opportunity to write a new chapter in two historic clubs.
