Six of the best Under 15 boy’s in the AFL Barwon region are off to represent Team Vic 15 years and Under at the School Sports Australia National Championships to be held in Perth and Mandurah from July 22 – July 29, 2017.
St Joseph’s pair Archie Hilderbrandt and Sam Witherden, Newtown & Chilwell’s Tanner Bruhn, Grovedale’s Lachie Hood, St Mary’s Charlie Lazzaro, and last season’s Under 14 Division 1 Darryl Jarvis medalist Noah Gadsby from Torquay will don the Big V in 2017.
The School Sports Australia National Championships held in Geelong last year, has been a platform for unearthing future AFL players with Geelong Football Club Captain Joel Selwood being named the J. L. Williams Medal best player of the carnival in 2003.
This is not the first time in the Big V jumper for Tanner Bruhn and Charlie Lazzaro, with both representing their state in the 12 years and Under Championships in 2014.
Drysdale’s Tess Craven has been named as an emergency for the Girls 15 years and Under Victorian Squad .
