Ben Patrick will co-coach the St Albans senior football side alongside Chris Carlon in 2020, with the former Essendon opposition analyst returning to the GFL competition where he made a name for himself in the early 2000s.
As well as being co-coach, Patrick will also serve as the SuperSaints’ ‘Club Coach’, where he will guide the development of other coaches at the club.
“It’s actually huge,” Chris Carlon told the Geelong Advertiser.
“We felt we needed a little bit more support in the coaching staff and we were just lucky enough to stumble across Ben. He’s going to bring a great amount of knowledge and a lot of contacts from around the place.
“There’s definitely a great vibe around the place now we’ve been able to make the announcement.”
Patrick enjoyed a decorated GFL career, featuring in Lara’s 2002 Premiership before co-coaching Barwon Heads in the BFNL between 2005-06. He also held assistant coach roles with Werribee and North Melbourne in the VFL, before most recently linking up with Essendon as part of their AFL analyst team.
