Association Championships 2017

The 2017 Central West Zone Association Championships qualifying day took place on May 28th at Werribee Eagle Stadium. AFL Barwon sent 14 teams to complete in the day acorss 3 leagues.

Below are the results from the day:

Colac & District FLNA 13 & Under Champ: Finished 7th in their pool unfortunately not recording a win for the day.

Bellarine FNL 13 & Under Champ: Finished 6th in their pool with one win for the day.

Geelong FNL 13 & Under Champ: Made semi-finals and unfortunately lost the semi-final by 12 points.

Colac & District FLNA 13 & Under Reserve: Finished 6th in their pool coming away with one win for the day.

Colac & District FLNA 15 & Under Champ: Finished 5th in their pool coming away with one win for the day.

Bellarine FNL 15 & Under Champ: Finished 7th in their pool unfortunately not recording a win for the day.

Geelong FNL 15 & Under Champ: Finished 3rd in their pool missing out on finals by percentage after only dropping 1 match for the day.

Colac & District FLNA 15 & Under Reserve: Finished 7th in their pool unfortunately not recording a win for the day.

Geelong FNL 15 & Under Reserve: Undefeated for the day taking home the 15 & Under Reserve title. Defeating Sunbury NA narrowly by 1 point in the Grand Final.

Colac & District FLNA 17 & Under Champ: Finished 8th in their pool coming away with two wins for the day.

Bellarine FNL 17 & Under Champ: Finished 9th overall and unfortunately not recording a win for the day

Geelong FNL 17 & Under Champ: Made semi-finals and unfortunately lost the semi-final by 4 points.

Bellarine FNL 17 & Under Reserve: Finished 5th overall, unfortunately missing out on finals.

Geelong FNL 17 & Under Reserve: Finished 4th during round robin rounds and managed to come through the finals to claim the 17 & Under Reserve title. Defeating Plenty Valley NA by 7 points in the Grand Final.

As well as the players achievements, we had 14 umpires represent AFL Barwon at the Association Champs, with 3 umpires given the honour of umpiring Grand Finals. Congratulation to Katie Castles, Jordan French and Karen Green on your Grand Final selections.
